2. Q. How do I know my bottled water is safe?
A. Consumers can trust that bottled water is safe for many reasons. The first reason
is that bottled water is strictly regulated on the federal level by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and regarded as a food product and on state level
it is regulated by the state officials. This ensures the consumer that all bottled water sold in the United States meets these stringent standards.

3. Q. What is the difference between bottled Spring Water and tap water?
A. The major differences are Quality & Taste.
Quality exists in every bottle of Spring Water. Bottled Spring Water and bottling plants are inspected and monitored by governmental agencies and private laboratories to ensure consistency. Tap water can be inconsistent due to the amount of rainfall, source of the water, amount and type of chemicals used to
treat the water, etc. Another Factor is the distance tap water travels from the treatment plant to your faucet and the age and condition of the pipes it travels through to reach the tap. Tap water is regulated by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and is regarded as a utility.
Taste is the other major difference. Chlorine used to treat tap water can leave an aftertaste. The source of the treated water is usually rivers, lakes streams and reservoirs. Depending on the source prior to disinfecting with chlorine, the tap water may have an “earthy” taste. The disinfection agent used in our Spring Water is ozone, a form of supercharged oxygen, which leaves no taste or chemical trace. All you get is the crisp refreshing taste of Spring Water.

10. Q. How do I clean and maintain my cooler?
A. Mount Mazama Spring Water coolers and bottles will both require periodic cleaning
and sanitizing. It is also important for you to know that bottled water can last for
very long periods of time without affecting the taste of the water. However, you
should rotate your bottles by using the oldest bottles first. Also, it is important not
to store your extra bottles in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can adversely effect
bottles promoting algae growth over a period of time. Mount Mazama Spring
Water recommends the following for maintaining your cooler:
Whether you own or rent your cooler always wipe off the neck of the full bottle
before you place it on the cooler. Visually inspect around the probe where the
bottle fits and wipe out any excess water or debris that may be around the probe.
Wipe off the faucets weekly. Periodically remove the drip tray and wash with
warm soap and water.
The water cooler is essentially a closed system. However, dust, cooking oils and
grease, pet hair etc. can migrate into the cooler. If you notice an off taste in your
water, it is time to clean your cooler. If you rent your cooler from us, call the
office and we will arrange for a cooler switch. If you own your cooler we will
clean it for a cleaning fee.

In addition to FDA’s extensive regulatory requirements, the bottled water industry is
Subject to state regulatory requirements as well. Inspections: A significant
responsibility of the state is inspection, sampling, analyzing, and approving sources
of water. Under the federal GMPs, only approved sources of water can be used to
supply a bottling plant. Laboratory Certification: Another area in which some states
Have important responsibilities that complement federal regulation is the certification
of testing laboratories. As with any food establishment, the states perform

13. Renting vs. Owning Your Water Cooler
This is a question people have been debating for a good many years in the bottled water industry. Should you buy your cooler or rent it?
Today a lot of customers are purchasing a water cooler at the local retailer of their choice. This is fine with us, we will still deliver you water, but there is a problem……..
We know that when a customer purchases these coolers they are trying to make a wise decision in having it paid off in a little over a year’s time. The problem is that these coolers are not quality manufactured coolers and the material is of low quality, which is why they are cheap. Another problem is that they are not really expected to last more then a year and are considered to be dispensable coolers. When the cooler fails it is just time to purchase another one.
By renting from Mount Mazama Spring Water you will receive a very high quality appliance that is backed by the manufacturer and us. We will clean the cooler at your request and maintain it like it is brand new all the time!
If there is ever a problem, simply call and we will replace the unit with another quality unit. And because you are renting the cooler there is no charge for this it is all included in the rent.
Advantages of Renting.
- No money up front.
- Worry Free-If anything goes wrong we fix it or replace it not cost to you.
- Safety (child resistant) spigots available for each spigot.
- You can change your dispenser type--switch from Cold&Room to Hot&Cold, visa versa, or even to crock with stand.
- Our dispensers are all of commercial grade quality and all food grade water contact surfaces.
